from molecules to market is a 30 hrs online certificate course. It aims to
train students to explore the fundamental chemistry of fragrance compounds and study
the structure - odour relationship, to impart knowledge of safety regulations
and quality standards, to introduce business aspects of fragrance industry
including branding, packaging, pricing and market strategies. Address toxicity,
skin sensitization and safe dosage levels of fragrance ingredients. To equip
students with skills relevant to industry needs, fostering career opportunities
in fragrance house, cosmetic companies and research institutions.

Fundamentals of Perfume Chemistry-
Introduction to fragrance chemistry and perfumery. Classification of aroma compounds
Functional groups and their olfactory characteristics, Natural Fragrance Sources,

After successful completion of the course, students will gain in-depth knowledge of the chemical structure, properties, and synthesis of aromatic compounds used in perfumery, develop practical skills in creating perfume blends, analysing fragrance notes, and evaluating, understand industry regulations, labelling requirements, and safety standards related to fragrance ingredients and finished products and will acquire insights into the global fragrance industry, marketing strategies, consumer trends and the process of taking perfume from lab to launch.
